What makes KIET-MUN different from others??

The KIET Model United Nations Society established in the year 2009 under the presidency of Shaikh Shakeeb Ahmed & the founding members namely Saad Ahmed Khan, Mirza Muhammad Hussain, Azhar Hasmi & Tayyeba Mazhar. The aim of this society was to introduce MUN particularly to those students of PAF-KIET who had no idea about what it was & there is no question in believing the fact that over the passage of years the society has been most successful in achieving its goal.

It has conducted 4 intra-MUN since its establishment & participation of delegates has rapidly increased. The purpose of a MUN has now become clear among the students & they have realized it’s importance. It has given students of KIET a platform to fully experience the atmosphere of MUN-conferences & gain the required skills for leadership & diplomacy.

Another outstanding achievement of KIET-MUN as a whole is that it has produced excellent Munners of high potential who have represented the university at many national & international events, winning different awards & have made PAF-KIET’s name recognized all over the world.

EURASIAMUN’10, World MUN-10-11, OXI-MUN-11 have been some of the international MUN conferences where Kiet Mun’s officials have gone.  PAF-KIET delegations from the society have also been an active participant of LUMUN since 2007 to date & have won many awards in it as well. Other then that delegation’s produced by KIET-MUN society have actively participated in many national MUN’s such as MUNIK, ZABMUN, PAFMUN, CBMUN, MUNIBO, MUNPK.

Fawad Ali Langah is an asset of the Kiet-Mun Society & he is the man who has achieved milestones for PAF-KIET & for this nation.He was called at Geneva Mun-12 by the UN officials to train their delegates. He has the most international experience in the university not only as a delegate but he has also been chairing as committee directors in international MUN’s. His most recent visit was to Rome where he acted as the committee director at ROMUN-12.

The Best part, which gives KIET-MUN an edge over other national MUN-Societies, is that it has been successful in clarifying this confusion among the students who play roles of delegates that all though at the end of the 4^th day when resolution’s are passed, awards are distributed & everyone goes home but nothing actually changes in reality. There is hope that things will change with time. Just like it was predicted some many decades before that the president of United States of America would be a black men which was once never believed but now we know it’s true. Similarly It is the vision based on productive thoughts that will change things & would promise a bright future.

The Society is conducting it's 5th Intra University Model United Nation.
